Side slide is a surface trick: rotate the board frontside 90 degrees on the water, slide briefly, then return to riding direction.
Stay centered over the board, keep knees soft, and use handle position to control the slide. Start with small movements, not a forced spin.
Progression note: learn it on flat water at comfortable speed before linking surface 180s or approaching obstacles.
