Gap means clearing open space between takeoff and landing, usually between feature sections or from a kicker to a target landing.
Use enough speed to clear the distance, keep the board level in the air, and spot the landing early. Absorb first, then set your edge.
Progression note: inspect gap size, landing angle, and water depth. Build from smaller gaps and never guess speed on a new setup.
