Backroll is a heelside invert where the board and rider roll like a reverse cartwheel. It is often one of the first wakeboard inverts, but it still needs strong edge control and height.
Use a progressive heelside edge, stand tall at the top, edge through release, and keep two hands close to the handle. Let the line carry the roll instead of throwing the upper body early.
Prepare with wake jumps, edging, trampoline awareness, and controlled landings. A compact handle position keeps the axis cleaner and makes spotting the landing easier.
